Many homeowners wonder if making some cosmetic changes to their home will get them a return on their investment. The generic answer is, absolutely! But what specific items will get you the best bang for your buck? Usually, the answer is kitchen and baths. Those of course can get pricey to renovate. Sometimes, just paint, a good cleaning or landscape can drive prospective buyers to your door.
Buyers are attracted to a home that looks like it came out of a magazine. Perhaps you have a pink bedroom walls, blue tile from the 70’s and green carpet, most buyers will not be very interested. Neutralizing the colors, updating the bathroom tile and replacing the carpeting or *gasp* uncovering (and possibly refinishing) the hardwoods that are under the green carpet can really make a difference.
As an agent, I have seen it all and then some. I also have the experience and knowledge to help a homeowner make the best choices for their home and also the programs to available so the homeowner doesn’t have to put money out of their pocket into the home prior to listing. Sounds like a good idea, am I right!?
